HC Deb 15 July 1993 vol 228 c651W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what consideration he gives to complaints of excessive zeal on the part of Inland Revenue investigating officers from hon. Members; how many such complaints he has received with regard to the special office No. 2; what written guidance exists to guide him on how to deal with such complaints; and if he will place a copy of such guidance in the Library.

Mr. Dorrell

There are no special arrangements for dealing with this type of complaint, which would be referred to the Inland Revenue for full investigation and report in the normal way. A response would then be made to the hon. Member as appropriate by the Minister responsible or by the Inland Revenue direct.

I am not aware that any such complaints have been received with regard to the special office No. 2.
