HL Deb 15 July 1993 vol 548 c24WA
Lord Spens

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the Serious Fraud Office and other prosecuting authorities will observe the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights in Funke, Crernieux and Miailhe v. France.

The Lord Chancellor (Lord Mackay of Clashfern)

The Serious Fraud Office and other prosecuting authorities are aware of the judgments in the cases cited. The Government is of the view that the legislative provisions governing the powers of the United Kingdom prosecuting authorities are not in breach of its obligations under the ECHR.
