Mr. John D. Taylor
To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many new admissions of pupils there have been to Leadhill primary school in each of the past five years; how many new admissions are expected in September; how many classrooms were lost in June 1982 as a result of vandalism; when it is planned to replace those classrooms; and at which primary schools in the borough of Castlereagh there will be capital expenditure for the provision of new classrooms during the next three years.38W
§ Mr. Ancram
Admissions to Leadhill primary school in each of the last five years and expected admissions in September 1993 are as follows:
Year Number 1988 23 1989 25 1990 26 1991 25 1992 33 1993 32
Four classrooms at Leadhill primary school were demolished following an arson attack in June 1983. They were replaced by three temporary classrooms.
There are no plans at present for major capital expenditure for the provision of new classrooms at primary schools in the borough of Castlereagh, but the South Eastern education and library board regularly reviews the need for capital development at controlled schools in its area.
