§ Sir Patrick MayhewI have received a number of representations from organisations with an interest in human rights, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. I am, of course, wholly committed to the protection of civil liberties throughout the community in Northern Ireland, where they have been inexcusably denied to so many people by the action of terrorists.
