§ Mr. GoodladWe are aware of allegations that HIV-positive Burmese prostitutes returned from Thailand have disappeared but we have seen no evidence to support these allegations. According to the Burmese authorities, prostitutes who are found to be HIV-positive are counselled, and treated for sexually transmitted diseases if appropriate, before being returned to their families.
