§ Mr. ForthIt is for each local education authority to determine the appropriate balance of spending between the primary and secondary school sectors. The 1993–94 local authority grant settlement allows for local authorities in England to spend £16,854 million on education overall, 2.6 per cent. more than the comparable figure for 1992–93.
