§ Mr. Michael Forsyth[holding answer 16 February 1993]: The Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981 have the effect of 248W continuing certain statutory and contractual rights of employees when an undertaking is transferred from one employer to another. It is immaterial whether the employer in the United Kingdom is or becomes controlled by a company in another country within or outside the EC.
