HL Deb 17 February 1993 vol 542 cc72-3WA
Lord Brougham of Vaux

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will publish any information available about the number of public car parks owned by local authorities in England, Scotland and Wales respectively; the number of spaces they contain; the revenue received from them; and the terms and conditions which are normally applied in letting contracts to the private sector to operate such local authority car parks.

The Minister of State, Department of Transport (The Earl of Caithness)

Information about the number of public car parks owned by local authorities, the number of spaces they contain and the revenue received is not kept centrally. When private sector operators are engaged to operate such car parks, the terms and conditions of the contract are a matter for the local authority and contractor concerned.
