HL Deb 17 February 1993 vol 542 c72WA
Baroness Gardner of Parkes

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What progress has been made on the implementation of the Sea Fish (Conservation) Act 1992.

Earl Howe

We shall shortly be laying before Parliament an order setting out the principles on which days-at-sea allocations will be worked out. On the basis of this order, Fisheries Departments will issue provisional days-at-sea figures to fishermen, who will have an opportunity to comment on them before days-at-sea restrictions start to operate. All fishermen will have a further opportunity to make a formal appeal to the Sea Fish Licence Tribunal, which is now being set up.

An information note giving further details has been placed in the Library.
