HC Deb 09 February 1993 vol 218 c570W
16. Rev. Martin Smyth

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is the current complement for the part-time element of the Royal Irish Regiment; and what were the corresponding figures for the previous three years.

Mr. Archie Hamilton

For security reasons it is not our practice to disclose the complement of any regiment in the British Army however, as at 1 December 1992 the strength for the part-time element of the Royal Irish Regiment (home service) was 136 officers and 2,618 soldiers.

Corresponding figures for 1 December 1991 were 147 officers and 2,855 soldiers, for 1 December 1990, 148 officers and 2,939 soldiers, and for 1 December 1989, 154 officers and 3,283 soldiers.
