Over-the-Counter Medicines

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans she has to extend the availability of over-the-counter medicines.

Dr. Mawhinney

We intend to extend the range of medicines which may be supplied over the counter without prescription where this can be done safely. We have recently revised our procedures to facilitate and speed up reclassification of medicines from prescription only to over the counter status.
