HC Deb 09 February 1993 vol 218 c611W
Mrs. Ewing

To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) if she will list those drugs which have been deleted from the current selected list and their manufacturers;

(2) if she will list the drugs that have been included on the selected list since 1985; and if she will list them and their manufacturers.

Dr. Mawhinney

The selected list scheme specifies those categories of drugs which are to be reviewed by the advisory committee on national health service drugs, with a view to advising the Health Departments which particular products within those categories should not be available for NHS prescription. The list of drugs which currently cannot be prescribed by general practitioners under the NHS is published in the NHS (General Medical Services) Regulation 1992. Names of the relevant manufacturers could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
