§ Mr. David HuntThe total public expenditure provision for programmes within my responsibility in 1993–94, £6,316 million, is 8.7 per cent. more than the original planned provision for 1992–93, £5,809 million. This is an increase of 5.8 per cent. in real terms.
Included in these figures are additional resources in 1993–94 in respect of (i) the transfer from the Department for Education of responsibility for university funding in Wales; (ii) the transfer from the Department of Social Security to local authorities of responsibility for enhanced support for those who need it for care in their own homes or in residential or nursing homes; (iii) the transfer from the Department of Employment of responsibility for training; and (iv) the new treatment of superannuation costs for civil servants.
