§ Mr. MorganTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what representations he has received in relation to the proportionate increase in the numbers of administrative and management staff in the national health service; and what proposals he has to limit the increase in numbers.
§ Mr. Gwilym JonesNo such representations have been received. Staffing levels are the responsibility of health authorities and national health service trusts and they require sufficient numbers to manage an annual expenditure in Wales of nearly £2 billion in an effective and efficient way for the benefit of patients.
