§ Mr. Simon HughesTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will estimate the total number of houses in each regional and island authority area which may exceed(a) a radon level of 200 Bq/M3 and (b) 20 Bq/M3; and if he will make a statement.
§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 18 January 1993]: I cannot give such an estimate. Information on radon in Scotland is contained in a report by the National Radiological Protection Board, "Radon in Dwellings in Scotland" published on 20 November 1991. Copies are available in the House Library. A further report by the board is to be published this year.
