HC Deb 17 December 1993 vol 234 cc999-1000W
Mr. Matthew Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will list the name and job description of each special ministerial adviser employed in her Department, showing any particular outputs for which each adviser is responsible.

Mr. Sackville

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health has one special adviser, Mr. Richard Marsh, who advises on matters relating to health and social services.

Mr. Matthew Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what arrangements are made to ensure that special advisers to Ministers in her Department do not have access to the kind of information, and are not involved in the type of business, that would be likely to create suspicion of impropriety in relation to subsequent employment.

Mr. Sackville

The special adviser to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health is not given access to the kind of information likely to create suspicion of impropriety. He is not involved in evaluating tenders or letting contracts.
