  1. 1. The total number of press releases issued by the Benefits Agency between April 1991 and 13 December 1993 is 281. (This figure excludes press releases issued by the local offices of the Benefits Agency).
  2. 2. Before 1988 the Department was part of the DHSS and separate figures for Social Security are not available.
  3. 3. From 1988 to October 1990 press releases were still processed centrally by the joint Departments and separate figures are not available.
