To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when she last met the chairman of the Forestry Commission to discuss the progress of the forest policy review; and if she will make a statement.

I met the chairman of the Forestry Commission early last month when we had a brief exchange exchange of views on the work of the forestry review group.

26. Mr. Dunnachie

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what indications she has received from the interdepartmental forestry review group on the future of the Forest Enterprise estate.

Mrs. Gillian Shephard

The forestry review group has not yet presented its advice to Ministers.

We are expecting to receive its report early next year.
