HC Deb 01 April 1993 vol 222 c374W
Mr. Dewar

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish figures for estimated domestic fuel expenditure by households on(a) average and (b) 50 per cent. of average incomes, giving figures separately for expenditure on (i) oil, (ii) piped gas, (iii) cylinder gas, (iv) electricity and (v) coal.

Mr. Nelson

[holding answer 26 March 1993]: The following estimates are derived from the 1991 family expenditure survey. The estimates are based on samples of 200 households grouped at each level of income. Because of the small sample size the figures are subject to considerable sampling variations. Figures are rounded to the nearest 10p.
