§ Mr. Ron DaviesTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what proposals he has to charge farmers for conservation advice tendered by the Agricultural Development Advisory Service or by the Welsh Office agriculture department.
§ Mr. David HuntADAS provides general conservation advice to farmers free of charge. During 1992–93 I have provided some £296,000 to meet the cost of such ADAS free conservation advice to farmers in Wales. I am considering what provision should be made for such free advice in 1993–94. Farmers obtain detailed and specific advice from a number of sources, including ADAS, al a price negotiated between the parties concerned. Advice provided to farmers directly by WOAD is free of charge.
