HC Deb 18 November 1992 vol 214 c272W
36. Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many vehicles the Forestry Commission operates; how many use unleaded petrol; how many are diesel; and how many vehicles are serviced by the private sector.

Sir Hector Monro

The Forestry Commission owns and operates 2,239 road vehicles, of which 50 use unleaded petrol and 1,950 use diesel. The other 239, which use leaded petrol, will be replaced with diesel vehicles over the coming year. About one quarter of the servicing and maintenance of the commission's vehicles is carried out by the private sector.
