I am commissioning consultants: to establish whether the current budget for stage 1A and the completion phase of the St. Pancras project is adequate and whether the strategy and organisation for procurement of the completion phase are likely to be the most effective means of ensuring the timely and successful conclusion of the project; to audit the status and quality of the design information for the completion phase; to review the status of the British library's projects for the occupation of the new building, including the reliability of cost estimates for the work; to formalise the role of the British library in relation to the building project; and subsequently to audit the status of documentation for the procurement of the completion phase to ensure that it is unambiguous, precise and comprehensive.
