Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many staff, full-time equivalent, were employed in each of the three local offices in the Newham district benefits agency for each quarter in 1991 in(a) income support, (b) contributions, (c) direct payments, (d) social fund, (e) fraud, (f) child support and (g) total; and what is the current position for the latest date for which he has figures.

The staffing of Benefits Agency offices is a matter for Mr Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member with such information as is available and copies will be placed in the Library and the Public Information Office.
