To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what percentage of the total work force in his Department is registered as disabled; what steps he is taking to encourage the employment of disabled people within his Department; and if he will make a statement.

This information is not held centrally and at this time could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. The Department of National Heritage will be committed to the implementation of the code of practice on the employment of people with disabilities in the civil service.
