§ Mr. KeyThe responsibilities of the Secretary of State for National Heritage in relation to Wales broadly follow the territorial division of responsibilities which existed prior to the creation of the Department of National Heritage. Responsibilities of the Secretary of State which extend to Wales include: sponsorship of the National Heritage Memorial Fund; acceptance of property in satisfaction of tax; the work of the Advisory Committee on Historic Wreck Sites; the GB Sports Council and the international promotion of British Sport; British Screen Finance; European Co-production Fund; Audio Visual Eureka; Film Certification; the UK Film Commission; the MEDIA Programme; the National Film and Television School; the Crafts Council; the British Film Institute; policy and funding for film culture; the business sponsorship incentive scheme; acceptance of works of art 423W in lieu of tax; the work of the Reviewing Committee on the Export of Works of Art; broadcasting; the performing arts; the British Library and the Public Lending Right. He consults the Secretary of State for Wales on these matters where appropriate.
Responsibility for national museums and galleries, public libraries, the Government indemnity scheme and tourism in Wales lies with the Secretary of State for Wales.
