HC Deb 02 June 1992 vol 208 c527W
21. Mr. Tom Clarke

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has to reduce bullying and racial harassment in the armed forces.

Mr. Archie Hamilton

The services take a very serious view of bullying and racial harassment. It has been made clear throughout the services that bullying, racial harassment or other ill-treatment will not be tolerated. A range of measures to combat bullying has been introduced, including the banning of initiation ceremonies.
