To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will publish all the inquiries by the police and the Prison Department into the Special Branch operation and the July 1991 escape of the alleged IRA suspect at Brixton gaol; and if he will make a statement.

No. The recent report by Mr. Bailey, deputy chief constable of Nottinghamshire, was commissioned by the chief constable of Staffordshire. As to earlier reports, I have nothing to add to the various statements made by my predecessor on this matter.
