To ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will make a statement on the future of the subject of food and home economics in the national curriculum.

Aspects of home economics are covered in a number of national curriculum subjects, including technology and science. While the revision of the programmes of study and statements of attainment of the national curriculum technology order is still in progress, it would be inappropriate to comment further.
