HC Deb 15 July 1992 vol 211 c750W
Mr. McGrady

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what steps have been taken to provide funding for the relocation of acute hospital services on the Downshire site in Downpatrick, Co. Down; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hanley

The management and delivery of acute hospital services in the Downpatrick area is the responsibility of the Eastern health and social services board. The consultation period on its recently published consultative document "Framework for General (Acute) Hospital Services within the Board Area" is due to end on 30 September 1992, after which the board will frame its proposals for the future. I understand that the board has not at this time agreed any plans to relocate acute hospital services on the Downshire site.
