To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will break down the level of award and the distribution across disciplines of distinction awards for the Mersey region into the individual health authorities.

[holding answer 10 July 1992]: The tables have been placed in the Library.

Some consultants have contracts with more than one authority and where this occurs they have been counted in each authority. The total number of awards held in the Mersey region by grade is 5A +, 31A, 68B and 152C.
