To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will remove VAT on the repair of heritage buildings; and if he will make a statement.

When we agreed the EC sixth VAT directive we accepted that we would not extend the scope of our current zero-rating. Our policy is to use discretionary repair grants to target help where it is most needed.
