To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster when he last met the Vice-President of the European Commission to discuss science and technology issues.

I met Vice-President Pandolfi on 23 June, to discuss the European Commission's research and development framework programme, and again on 1 July, when the European Commissioners visited London on the United Kingdom's assumption of the presidency of the European Community.
