§ Mr. NelsonThe 1992–93 running costs limit for the Treasury already takes account of planned efficiency savings of 1.6 per cent. of some £0.9 million. The main areas for efficiency savings are staff savings on support services and improved purchasing procedure. Savings in the year to date on the purchase of a wide range of goods and services amount to some £420,000.
