To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish figures showing the value of total manufacturing output in the United Kingdom in each year since 1975 at constant 1975 prices.

Changes in the level of output of manufacturing industry at constant prices are best measured by the index of manufacturing production based on 1985 prices. Annual figures from 1975 are given in the following table.
