To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will make a statement on the impact of the change in single-parent benefit on child benefit.

Mr. Jack

One-parent benefit is paid as an addition to child benefit for anyone bringing up a child alone. Its structure has not changed since the introduction of child benefit.
