How many recommendations by the Parole Board for the release on parole of prisoners serving sentences of less than 10 years have been rejected by the Home Secretary in each of the last five years.

In 1989, the latest year for which information is available, parole was rejected by the Home Secretary for 21 prisoners serving sentences of less than 10 years who had been recommended for parole by the Parole Board.
