Mr. Wallace

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he proposes legislation to implement any of the recommendations of the committee set out to review child care law in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 11 March 1991]: Once we have assessed the recommendations of the review in the light of the many comments received we shall decide which can be accepted and how they can be implemented, by primary legislation, by regulations or by guidance.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received following upon the publication of the report of the committee set up to review child care law in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 11 March 1991]: To date, a total of 83 responses have been received from a wide range of organisations and individuals. We are analysing these responses carefully before making any decisions on the individual recommendations of the review.
