To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if any works of art have been accepted in lieu of inheritance tax since he last made an announcement.

I am pleased to announce that the following works have been accepted in lieu of inheritance tax:

Four old master drawings (by Mirola, Barocci, Cortona and Reni) 64,490
Harpsichord by Burkat Shudi 35,000
Portraits of Charles Hope and Professor Hill by Sir Henry Raeburn 48,439

The four old master drawings have been allocated to the National Gallery of Scotland. The Raeburn portrait of Charles Hope has been allocated to the Scottish national portrait gallery. The Shudi Harpsichord and the Raeburn portrait of Professor Hill have yet to be allocated.
