To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what was the number of personnel in the Territorial Army in 1979, 1985 and 1991.

The strength of the Territorial Army, including the Home Service Force was, as at 31 January in each year, 59,103 in 1979, 73,462 in 1985 and 75,135 in 1991.
