HC Deb 17 June 1991 vol 193 c58W
17. Mr. Donald Thompson

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what are the latest figures he has for the level of disconnection for debt for electricity supply.

Mr. Heathcoat-Amory

Disconnections for nonpayment of bills in England and Wales are at the lowest figure since records began in 1976, when disconnections stood at more than double the present figures.

In the year ended 31 March the total number of such disconnections stood at 51,637 or 0.27 per cent. of all domestic credit customers.
