HC Deb 24 July 1991 vol 195 c645W
Mr. Doran

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what discussions he has had with Grampian health board, and with the sponsors of the Foresterhill hospital's trust application regarding future management of the medical unit at the National Hyperbaric Centre.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

No discussions have taken place about this. Any change to the arrangements for medical services at the national hyperbaric centre has no connection with the issue of trust status for Foresterhill. The review of arrangements was instigated well before trust status was first mooted for the Foresterhill site, and had been handled by officials at Grampian health board's headquarters, not by managers at Foresterhill.

Mr. Doran

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what discussions he has had with Grampian health board, with the sponsors of the Foreserhill hospital's trust application, and with the university of Aberdeen, regarding the future disposition of the lands on the Foreserhill site which are jointly owned by the health board and the university; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The disposition of land is in the first instance a matter for discussion and agreement amongst those directly involved, in this case Grampian health board, the university of Aberdeen, and the trust applicants, the Foresterhill hospital's unit. These discussions are ongoing. To date, therefore, my officials have had no material discussions with any of the interested parties about the disposition of that land on the Foresterhill site that is jointly owned with the university of Aberdeen.

Mr. Doran

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what discussions he has had with the sponsors of the Foresterhill hospital's unit trust application and with Grampian health board regarding the detailed financial plans and projections for the proposed national health service trust.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

My officials have discussed the relevant financial details with the sponsors of the Foresterhill Hospitals Unit Trust and with Grampian health board. These discussions are still continuing and will cover all financial aspects of the proposal.
