What progress they are making in relation to the criminal code for England and Wales recommended by the Law Commission (Law Comm. No. 177) in April 1989.
§ The Lord ChancellorFollowing the publication in 1989 of its proposals for a criminal code, the Law Commission is now, in furtherance of that project, engaged in producing proposals and a draft Bill covering non-fatal offences against the person and a number of defences and general principles applying to all offences. In that connection it is hoped to issue a consultation paper early next year.
