HL Deb 24 July 1991 vol 531 c51WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the words "Government warning" currently seen on hoardings and referring apparently to the Labour Party are to carry the same weight as the same words used on cigarette packets and tobacco advertisements.

The Lord Privy Seal (Lord Waddington)

It is for members of the public to ascribe as much weight as they wish to the words "Government Warning", used in the advertisement to which the noble Lord refers. Her Majesty's Government hopes that all government warnings are taken seriously by those who read them.
