§ Mr. PaiceTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list in rank order the amount spent by each local education authority on special needs(a) as an amount per pupil-student and (b) as a proportion of total local education authority expenditure on education.
§ Mr. FallonReturns from local education authorities identify separately their expenditure on special schools, home and hospital tuition, child guidance and educational psychological services. However, those returns do not show separately the amount spent to meet the special needs of pupils in primary and secondary schools and of further education students.
305WFor 1988–89, the latest year for which information on actual spending is available, table 1 indicates spending on those items which are separately indentified as an amount per pupil in special schools. Table 2 indicates that spending as a proportion of total local education authority expenditure on education.
