To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science how much time is spent in school by children in(a) England and Wales, (b) Japan, (c) Germany and (d) France.

International comparison cannot be precise. The figures in the table compare the number of hours of weekly attendance at school and the number of weeks in the school year.
