§ Mr. McLeishTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will list the companies formerly members of the national training providers unit which have withdrawn from the provision of youth training.
Mr. JacksonThe following companies which formerly contracted through my Department's TECs and national providers unit have withdrawn from the provision of youth training: ASDA Stores Ltd, B and Q plc., Dairy Crest Ltd., Habitat Designs Ltd., Newey and Eyre Ltd., Whitbread and Co. plc (Hotel and Catering), Wolsley Centres Ltd., and Woolworths plc. This represents only a small percentage (5 per cent.) of those national organisations currently delivering youth training through local contracts with training and enterprise councils.
