To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when he next expects to meet the president of the Confederation of British Industry to discuss manufacturing industry.

Ministers and officials of my Department keep in touch with the CBI on a wide range of business matters. I met the CBI twice during the week beginning 14 January, once to discuss wider ownership and once to discuss the outlook for pay and productivity.
