§ Mr. MaddenTo ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what action he has taken to improve surveillance of labelling by overseas carpet manufacturers, following a recent survey by the West Yorkshire Trading Standards Authority which was reported to him; how many sample tests of carpets have been carried out by his Department in each of the past five years to check whether fibre content conforms to label descriptions; and if he will make a statement.
