To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is his policy concerning road communications between north and south Wales.

The Government's policy is to upgrade the A483 and A470 routes by means of selective improvements. Details of the schemes planned to achieve this are set out in "Roads in Wales: Progress and Plans for the 1990s". Revised information on these schemes will be set out in a supplement to "Roads in Wales" to be published shortly.
