To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what improvements he has made to the heads of the valleys roads.

Since 1980 the B4276 junction with the A465 at Baverstocks hotel has been improved and there have been a number of other improvements to bring certain sections of the A465 up to current standards.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he proposes to improve the heads of the valleys roads; and if he will make a statement.

Proposals for improvement to the heads of the valleys section of the A465 will be decided on in the context of the south Wales area traffic study report, which is under consideration. Improvement of the Glynneath-Aberdulais section of the A465 is already included in the roads programme.
